ABCAX SYNERGY. SUMMARY. 1
------------------------------------------------------------------------

ORDER of a system is inversely related to the number of its freedom
degrees. This principle applies to all systems, whether concerned with
energy, or information. ORDER may be quantified and its value ranges
from 1 for the highest possible ORDER to 0 for the lowest.

Each particular order is determined by a factor such as rails for
the train, alphabet for the library, light frequency for the laser.
We call this factor the system's ORDERER.

One of the basic laws of physics, the second law of thermodynamics which
we abbreviated in ABCAA as the LAW OF DECREASING ORDER states that any
spontaneous change of a system decreases its order. In the limit case of
an ideal "reversible system" order stays constant. It never increases.

Only a complete disorder is stable. Ordered systems tend to change
spontaneously towards the lesser order and maintain their transient
stability only in presence of an adequate orderer strong enough
to counteract the uniformising tendency. Consequently, by virtue of the
LAW OF DECREASING ORDER the Universe tends necessarily towards absolute
uniformity and termal death.

Still we doubtless live in a context in an ordered world. Considered
from the perspective of the LAW OF DECREASING ORDER it looks as an
unstable transition between highly ordered past and chaotic future. The
origin of Universe appears from this perspective as the moment of
highest posible order.

However, cosmology contradicts this view. At the very beginning, closely
following the "big bang", the Universe consisted of a reduced sphere
extremely hot, uniform and chaotic. How could the multitude of ordered
forms of our present world arise from this chaos?

The LAW OF DECREASING ORDER seems to interdict ORDERING which our basic
praxis confirms nevertheless in all details and instances of our life.

One may therefore be tempted to ask, who is wrong: our praxis pleading
for ORDERING, or the LAW OF DECREASING ORDER interdicting it?
Considered separately both prove correct, but their confrontation leads
to logical contradiction.

By now this pattern should not look unfamiliar to us.

It is the dialectic dichotomy SYNERGY whose TERMS are ORDER and CHAOS.

ABCAX SYNERGY. SUMMARY. 2

Till recently, science faced the apparent contradiction of SYNERGY
entirely disarmed. Physics was able to conceive such deep and complex
models as Maxwells equations, but could not explain the structure of
a simplest cristal, let alone those involved by living, conscious and
social organisms. Order seemed to have metaphysical nature, exceeding
the scope of science and involving some theological genesis. This dead
end could not be overcome as long as physics restricted itself to the
traditional logic-based approach.

Recent understanding of the dialectic character of SYNERGY made it
possible to formulate and approach rigorosely the apparent contradiction
of CHAOS and ORDER and to conceive such theories as the MORPHOGENESIS
of R. Thom and SYNERTGETICS of H.Haken.
